POSITION SUMMARY

The Rope Access Level III Technician is responsible for leading the Rope Access team to perform various crafts while access areas via ropes.  The Rope Access Level III Technician is charged with ensuring the safety of all personnel within the work area while maintaining efficient project progression.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Have an unwavering commitment to Safety
  • Conduct behavioral based safety observations 
  • Participate in daily JSEA planning discussion
  • Be able to demonstrate all the skills and knowledge required of a SPRAT or IRATA Level I, Level II, and Level III RA Technician
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients and their safety representatives regarding rope access safety and rescue procedures
  • Ensure all procedures are understood prior to the start of work
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques
  • Manages equipment inventory levels while inspecting and maintaining operational safety of all Rope Access equipment
  • Complete all required planning, safety meetings and documentation, including work permits, job hazard analyses, safety meetings and rescue plans
  • Ensure that the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) to be used
  • Identify work zones and ensure the safety of any personnel or public who may enter these zones
  • Make certain that a prompt rescue of rope access personnel can be accomplished and that emergency services are available
  • Make certain that all equipment on the work site is protected from damage and is maintained in a safe condition throughout the work
  • Ensure that any rope access equipment that is damaged at the work site is identified and removed from service
  • Mentor junior employees in rope access and working procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • May be requried to generate and complet daily timesheets and paperwork for projects.
  • Assist other technicians as required
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management. 
  • Actively participate in client programs, planning and strategy sessions 
  • Actively participate in client safety initiatives, incident investigations, etc. 
  • Demonstrates strong adherence to Company policies and procedures, as well as Company values
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • Must possess an active SPRAT or IRATA Level III Certification 
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in theoretical knowledge, equipment and rigging, maneuvers, climbing and rescue/hauling
  • Valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card)
  • Basic written and verbal skills
  • Ability to perform work accurately
  • Must be reliable and have good time management skills
  • Physically and mentally fit
  • Ability to work productively in adverse conditions
  • Preferred technician with a combined knowledge & experience reading blueprints, adjusting, assembling, fabricating, & bolting components together
  • For new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen
  • For new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy Services
