Position Summary

Tacten is seeking Rope Access CWB 2 Visual Inspectors to join our team for both day and night shifts for our Spring Outage in the Fort McMurray area. As a CWB Inspector, you will be responsible for performing inspections and ensuring welding meets quality and safety standards. Position Information: 

  • Spring Outage
  • Outage duration: March 24th, 2025 - April 30th, 2025
  • 6/1 rotation, 12 hour shifts
  • Day and night shifts available
  • Fly-in-fly-out from all major hubs in Canada
  • Camp provided

Responsibilities

  • Observes work in progress to assure conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship
  • Inspection of process piping, power piping and structures from material verification stage to final commissioning and installation
  • Utilizes applicable procedures, codes, and standards to evaluate test and inspection reports, recommending acceptable or rejection/or rejection
  • Experience reviewing Work Scope Packages
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Requirements

  • CWB Level 2 Certification is required
  • IRATA Level 1 ticket is required; however, free training provided for IRATA Level 1, a one week intensive course', location of training will vary based on candidate location 
  • Experience completing own inspection reports, with ability to read scopes of work and complete inspections as needed 
  • Experience working on industrial oil and gas sites and doing vessel inspections is required 
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.1, VIII.Div.1, IX,II, CSA W47.1 and W59.3 codes is an asset
  • Knowledge of NDT methods (x-ray/radiographic, mag-particle, liquid penetrant, etc.,) is an asset
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
