Are you passionate about the marine industry and looking to work where the ocean meets opportunity? Portland Yacht Services is seeking a Marine Rigging Technician to join our dynamic and growing team at our state-of-the-art waterfront facility in Portland, Maine.

What You'll Do:

As a Marine Rigging Technician, you'll be responsible for inspecting, installing, maintaining, and upgrading rigging systems on a wide variety of sailboats and motor yachts. From tuning masts and splicing lines to upgrading standing and running rigging, you'll help keep our clients' vessels shipshape and ready to sail.

Responsibilities:

• Step and unstep masts safely and efficiently
• Install, repair, and upgrade standing and running rigging
• Conduct rig inspections and diagnostics
• Fabricate and splice wire and rope
• Work with winches, furling systems, clutches, and deck hardware
• Collaborate with customers, project managers, and service advisors
• Maintain clean, organized workspaces and document completed work

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in marine rigging (professional or strong recreational background)
• Familiarity with swaging, mechanical terminals, rope splicing, and tuning
• Ability to read and interpret rigging plans and technical drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and safety standards
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work outdoors in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
• Bonus: Experience with sailboat electronics or hydraulic systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.92 - $30.02 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
