Position Summary

Tacten is currently hiring Stainless Welders for project work in Regina, SK. As a Welder at Tacten, you will play a crucial role in contributing directly to the success of our clients' operations. Responsibilities

  • Perform welding tasks using various welding processes, such as SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding).
  • Weld components in different positions, including flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead, according to project requirements.
  • Ensure welds are performed to the specifications outlined in blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, and fitting them for welding.
  • Set up and calibrate welding equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition.
  • Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) as required, including visual inspection, dye penetrant, and magnetic particle testing.
  • Make necessary adjustments to welding techniques to correct defects and ensure high-quality welds.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to CWB standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Welding Certification required

  • CWB SMAW all position certication required
  • Stainless certification required
  • IRATA Level 1 required or willingness to obtain

Safety Certifications

  • CSTS/OSSA or OSSA BSO or OSSA CSO required
  • CSE/M (Confined Space and Monitor and Entry) required
  • ESC Fall Protection an asset
