600 Rope Access, Blade Repair Technician (Tech 1) Full Time/WIND Travel Techs

Position Summary:


We are seeking a Rope Access Blade Repair Technician (Tech 1) to join our dynamic team.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing inspection, maintenance, and repair of wind turbine blades using rope access techniques nationally throughout the U.S.A.  This position requires 100% travel.  


Key Responsibilities:


  • Basic Blade Inspections and Repairs
    • Conduct visual inspections of wind turbine blades to identify damage, wear, or other maintenance needs
    • Perform basic repairs on composite materials, including sanding, filling, and laminating
    • Prepare, mix, and apply resins, adhesives, and fiberglass materials as required
  • Rope Access Operations 
    • Execute tasks safely using rope access techniques in accordance with IRATA and SPRAT
  • Safety and Compliance 
    • Adhere to all company and industry standards, including maintaining proper PPE and following fall protection protocols
    • Comply with environmental and site-specific regulations to minimize impact during operations 
  • Teamwork and Development
    • Collaborate with other technicians to complete work efficiently and on schedule
    • Participate in ongoing training to improve technical skills and advance in certification levels


Qualifications, Experience and Requirements:


  • Qualifications and Skills
    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required 
    • Must be at a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
    • IRATA and or SPRAT Level 1 certification required
    • Global Wind Organization - Basic Safety Training (GWO BST) required 
    • Previous experience in wind turbine blade inspection and repair or similar composite repair work is preferred but not a requirement
    • Familiarity with rope access techniques and working in outdoor conditions is preferred but is not required
    • Valid Driver's License and pre-access drug and alcohol testing required
    • Pre-employment MVO and Criminal background checks will be required
    • Ability and willingness to travel to various locations throughout the U.S.A. as needed
  • Technical Skills 
    • Basic understanding of composite materials and repair techniques 
    • Competent in the use of power tools, sanding equipment, and resin application tools 

Work Conditions and Mental & Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to move, carry and lift objects weighing a minimum of 75 lbs.
    • Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights, including climbing tanks, ladders, scaffolding, towers, piping systems, catwalks, structural steel, and wind turbines
    • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking and stooping
    • Work in indoor and/or outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and/or cold 
    • Work in and hear industrial hazards
    • Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, and climb
    • Remain constantly active throughout duration of shift
    • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively
    • Sufficient vision (close vision and distance vision) or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to investigate
    • Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to perform in-field or office duties
    • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permit the employee to perform in-field or office duties
    • Excellent physical fitness and the ability to endure prolonged outdoor work in varying weather conditions
    • Comfortable working at heights greater than 250 ft.
    • 100% Travel required - Ability to travel to different job sites, sometimes on short notice
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
    • Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively
    • Exhibits sensible and responsible behavior
