We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Rope Access Technician to join our team, supporting cutting-edge LTA (Lighter Than Air) research and exploration initiatives. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations in challenging aerial environments, directly contributing to advancements in airship technology and airborne data collection. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the structural integrity and ongoing maintenance of our innovative airship designs.
Responsibilities
At height inspections to identify potential hazards or structural damage.
Installing safety devices such as anchors, ropes, winches.
Supervising confined space entry, confined space rescue and technical rope rescue (as an L3 or an L2 team leader).Supervising the use of work at height equipment such as harnesses, lanyards, and fall protection systems to ensure worker safety during maintenance projects.
Able to perform technical work or rescue in confined spaces.
Able to document work at height policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance to relevant standards and regulations.
Tracking and maintaining fall protection equipment.
Able to operate boomlifts and other machinery.
Inspecting for signs of wear or damage on soft structures.
Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used for each project.
Works well with other members of a flight ground crew.
Able to meet physical requirements of entering the upper gangway.
Qualifications
SPRAT or IRATA Level 2/3 required.
Confined Space Training.
First Aid/ CPR.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as an instructor is highly desirable.
Experience in search and rescue or technical rope rescue is highly desirable.
Physical & Compliance Requirements
Capable of lifting and transporting up to 50 pounds.
Capable of sitting or standing for long periods of time.
200 lbs weight limit on the structure for the upper sections of the airship.
Background check clearance.
Drug Test clearance wherever applicable.
