Job Description

Job Title:                    Para Loft Rigger
Department:              Training
Reports to:                 Para Loft Manager
Location:                    Coolidge, AZ 

SUMMARY

Inventory, clean, inspect, pack, maintain and store all personnel, cargo, bundle parachutes and associated air items equipment. Provides rigger training, pack in progress checks and assistance to TTF clients and staff. May perform duties as parachute malfunctions officer (if qualified) and equipment retrieval as required.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Instruct, observe, and provide Pack in Progress Inspections for Military Parachutists and Riggers using the proper techniques for packing, rigging, maintaining and employing approved parachute systems.
  • Maintain military and FAA required records of all TTF parachute equipment and associated items
  • Maintain all TTF parachute equipment and associated air items in an air worthy state as needed.
  • Fabricate and assemble all air operations materials and rigging components.
  • Rig supplies, equipment, and vehicles for air operations.
  • Load, position, and secure supplies and equipment within aircraft.
  • Test and install extraction and release systems.
  • Inspect cargo and personnel parachutes and other air operations equipment before and after each use, during packing, rigging, and at prescribed intervals to determine serviceability.
  • Repair or replace air operations equipment.
  • Use and maintain machines and tools for fabrication, modification, and repair of parachutes and other air operations equipment.
  • Travel as required in support of CPS operations.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Parachuting/Parachute Rigging Instructor.
  • FAA Senior Rigger Certificate required.
  • Manufacturer Endorsements/Certifications recommended
  • Prior military service and training experience preferred.
  • DoD rigger school, MFF graduate, MFF JM, and MTTB preferred (revised)
  • USPA Instructional Ratings preferred
  • Sewing machine maintenance/repair experience and certification preferred
  • Maintain MMPC qualifications and support

Language Skills

Ability to read and interprets technical procedures and Manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate gross margin and other financial formulas as needed.

Reasoning Ability

It is expected that the incumbent will be able to work in a proactive manner, address issues, and solve problems. 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements of the Position

Working hours vary day and night. The job requires up to 30% of travel domestically and international.    The work is seldom in an office, regularly indoors, outdoors, and on an aircraft. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to regularly kneel and bend over at waist.  The employee is required to us hands, handle and feel objects, sit and use controls, and talk and hear. The employee is regularly lifting 70lbs using strength of legs, back, shoulders, and arms.  The employee is required to use acute vision and motor skills. The employee is required regular to walk and stand

WORK HOURS

This is a full-time position.  The incumbent must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include days, nights, weekdays or weekends, and some holidays.  Work hours may vary or change based on departmental requirements.
