Position Summary
Acuren is currently recruiting for an NDT Level II ET Technician.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
- Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators
- Organize and report test results
- Perform specialized inspections
- May instruct and supervise others
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
Requirements
- Valid certification in Eddy Current Testing at Level II (often from recognized bodies such as ASNT, PCN, or SNT-TC-1A) is essential.
- Certification may also require adherence to specific industry standards or codes (e.g., ASTM, ISO).
- Several years (typically 2–5 years) of hands-on experience in non-destructive testing (NDT), with a focus on eddy current techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in applying eddy current methods to detect and evaluate material flaws in various applications (Tubular ET/RFT/NFT/IRIS and Surface ET).
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some college preferred
- Certified Level II
- Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
- Knowledge of NDT equipment
- Experience in report writing
- Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of the principles of eddy current theory and its practical application in inspection processes.
- Proficiency in using and calibrating eddy current testing equipment, including advanced instruments and associated software.
- Ability to interpret test data, troubleshoot equipment, and make informed decisions regarding defect evaluations.
- Familiarity with related NDT methods may be an advantag
