- Client Overview: The Coalition is a dedicated studio located in Vancouver, Canada, focused on pushing the Gears franchise to new heights in collaboration with talented professionals from around the world.
- Role Summary: As a Rigger, you will be responsible for bringing the artistic vision to life by rigging game assets according to technical guidelines. Your work is vital for the game animation systems and contributes to the overall success of the team and the game.
4. What are the key responsibilities?
- Work closely with the Rigging Lead to create rigged assets that meet the technical guidelines of the target platform and engine.
- Follow direction from the Rigging Lead, seeking feedback from peers and art leads when needed.
- Troubleshoot rigged assets, fix content issues, and test them on the target platform.
- Participate in meetings to ensure effective communication with the team.
- Meet project deadlines and milestones consistently.
- Document new rigging tools, techniques, and workflows as required.
- Be a positive and creative force within the team.
5. What experience are we looking for to drive success?
- MUST-Have Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional rigging experience or equivalent.
- AA/BFA preferred, or demonstrate an industry-standard level of rigging through a portfolio.
- Proficiency with Maya and a high capacity to learn new tools and processes.
- Strong knowledge of human/animal anatomy.
- Experience with clean and efficient smooth skinning practices.
- Passion for the industry, awareness of industry trends and technologies.
- Proactive work ethic and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn in-studio workflow and tools.
- Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
- Python scripting knowledge.
- Experience with MotionBuilder.
- Knowledge of cloth or simulation.
